What is iTunes?
Everybody who has a Mac has some sort of media player pre-installed on their computer, but even so, many decide to install Apple iTunes. Apple iTunes allows users to not only listen to music on their computers but also allows them to transfer music and video contact to their mobile devices as well, such as the i-Pod, the i-Phone, and the i-Pad. Although the program that became i-Tunes was created in 1999, it did not actually become i-Tunes until 2000 when the software was bought by Apple. Since then i-Tunes has continued to improve over the years in the services and features that it offers. But while i-Tunes is a popular media program and offers great features, such as library sharing, multiple library viewing modes, and an App organizer, some claim it has shortcomings as well. There have been a number of Mac users who have experienced issues that have led them to want to uninstall i-Tunes Mac. And since there is no removal option directly within the i-Tunes software, many of those individuals seek outside answers to the question as to how to uninstall i-Tunes Mac software. Fortunately there is more than one option to uninstall i-Tunes, one much simpler than the other.
How to Uninstall i-Tunes – Manual Removal
Uninstalling i-Tunes Mac software is not a simple process and actually includes a total of sixteen individual steps to uninstall the software completely. To begin to remove i-Tunes Mac software start by moving the i-Tunes icon under Applications into the Trash Bin, after which you will move on to the Utilities menu and launch the Activity Monitor. From here you would locate the i-Tunes helper and Quit the process, and then move on to System Preferences, at which time you will log-in to your account and remove the i-Tunes helper from the system. After following these steps you will then restart your Mac, and after the restart empty your Trash bin. After emptying the Trash bin you will need to find the Go To Folder and remove individual i-Tunes files that were not removed with the software itself. You will have to repeat this step a number of times in order to get rid of all of the files associated with i-Tunes. Although this is a simplified version of i-Tunes removal that combines certain steps, it is a guide to help you with uninstalling i-Tunes on Mac computers. Unless you have considerable computer knowledge, though, you may want to use a software program to remove i-Tunes instead.
How to Uninstall i-Tunes – Software Removal
If you choose to uninstall i-Tunes on Mac computers with the use of a removal software program the task will be much simpler. There are a number of these types of programs that can be trusted to do the trick, and all you have to do is simply download the software and then let it do the work.
